Chevron Ruffle Cake

This is an 8" round red velvet cake. I made this cake last minute so I just used a Betty Crocker box cake and a homemade cream cheese frosting.

Cream Cheese Frosting
1/2 Cup Crisco
1/2 Cup Butter
6oz. Cream cheese
1T Vanilla
1T Milk
4 Cups Powdered Sugar
Mix all the ingredients in a mixer until smooth.

I used the cream cheese frosting to stack my cake and crumb coat it. After chilling the cake I used buttercream frosting and a large rose tip for the ruffles.

The flowers I had made previously for another cake that I didnt end up using. Theyre made with gumpaste.
